The Hero's Journey is a design and self-production by Elsa Yranzo. It presents a ritual based on Joseph Campbell's theory: a gastronomic and virtual conceptualisation and representation of each step of the transformative journey — a collective path towards self-knowledge.
The journey begins in the ordinary world, where the hero lives their daily life following orders about what to do, feel and be — the famous "comfort zone." Suddenly, those who are ready hear the call to adventure. The hero decides to venture into a dark, unexplored path where they meet the wizard and the fairy godmother, and cross the first threshold.
Allies appear to help, but so do enemies that hinder the adventure. The hero hesitates over whether to continue, but decides to go deeper into the cave, like the hermits. Finally they advance to face the greater beast in the great final battle. The hero dies, tired and wounded... but rises again wiser, stronger, and returns to their ordinary world with the elixir of knowledge.
This is the circular rhythm that mirrors the world: life and death, order and chaos, consciousness and unconsciousness. The path that someone can, wants or has to walk to know themselves. To leave the ordinary world, fight the unknown and, finally, emerge victorious simply to BE.
A myth that those who dare repeat again and again, without end.
